Meet the Creator

Hi! I’m Amy, a first-time mom who moved to Columbia, Tennessee in the fall of 2024 with my toddler, my spouse, and a lot of questions about local life.

Amy Baltzer, founder of Columbia TN Kids Guide, local mom in Columbia, Tennessee, sharing family-friendly activities and community resources for parents.

The Story Behind Columbia TN Kids Guide

When we arrived, I wanted to find family-friendly activities, story times, and toddler events all in one simple place. I didn’t know where to start or which spots were actually good for babies and young kids. I would have loved a guide created by someone who understood what local parents are looking for, so I decided to make one.

Columbia TN Kids Guide was created to help families find family-friendly activities, events, and things to do with kids in Columbia, Tennessee and nearby towns within about 30 minutes of the square, including Spring Hill, Thompson’s Station, and Mount Pleasant. There is already so much happening around Maury County, and this guide makes it easier to find without having to search several different places or plan around a long drive.

Our Purpose

My goal is to make it simple for parents and caregivers to discover what is happening right around them, whether that is a library story time, a park program, a weekend festival, or an idea for rainy-day indoor play. Everything shared here is meant to help local families connect, explore, and make the most of the community we call home.

This guide is completely free for parents and caregivers to use. Event listings are not paid for or sponsored to be included. The goal is to keep this resource open and accessible for everyone, while maintaining accurate, high-quality information. Creating and updating this guide takes time, and community sponsors make it possible to keep it going. If your business or organization would like to support this work, I would love to connect and share more about sponsorship opportunities.
