Family Friendly Activities in Columbia, TN • Week of March 30 – April 5, 2026

Weekly family friendly activities in Columbia Tennessee for March 30 - April 5, 2026 with the downtown Columbia Square in the background

The end of March is here, Easter Sunday is just days away, and it feels like everything is waking up at once. The weather is finally warming, and April is already shaping up to be a jam-packed month full of can’t-miss indoor and outdoor events. This week closes out March with many of your usual favorites, then rolls right into a Friday and Saturday absolutely packed with Easter fun, from a special needs egg fest and traditional egg hunts across Columbia and Spring Hill to a sweet mom-and-me cookie decorating class.

And if you are still looking for something low key on Easter Sunday itself, Bunny Land will be open from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM with photos with the Easter Bunny and an indoor walk-through vintage Easter display featuring mechanical scenes.

At the same time, if you are feeling burned out or stuck in decision fatigue, you are very much not alone. Just like the ground after winter, a lot of us are coming out of a long season of doing and carrying so much, and it can take a while before anything feels light again. Many moms I have talked with lately, myself included, are noticing that even fun plans can start to feel like pressure instead of joy.

This is your gentle reminder that it is okay to say no to an outing, to keep a day quiet, or to disappoint your kids a little bit in order to protect your own mental health. Giving yourself room to rest, asking for help, and being honest about how you are really doing is one of the kindest ways to care for your family, and it might be the small “new beginning” another mom needs to see this spring too.

With all of that in mind, think of this guide as a menu, not a checklist. Scroll through the week, notice what actually feels doable for your family in this season, and give yourself permission to skip what does not. Below you will find a day by day breakdown of local events so you can choose the moments that fit your energy, your schedule, and the kind of spring you want to grow into.

As you plan, I am also grateful for the local businesses that help keep this guide going and accessible for families. Our featured partner is Maddy’s Playhouse in Spring Hill, where families can use the code KIDSGUIDE for 15% off individual Open Play passes purchased online or in person (discount applies to open play only and does not include memberships, pass packs, or Café purchases). They have also recently expanded their outdoor play area to include “Dino Digs,” a sensory digging pit that gives kids another fun way to play and explore.

We so appreciate the quarterly sponsors who help keep this guide free for local families, including Baltzer Marketing and Farmer Fred’s Wife. If you enjoy using this guide, please take a moment to check out their websites and follow them on social media as a simple way to say thank you and support the work they are doing in our community.

As we wrap up this week’s guide, I hope it feels like a small exhale in the middle of a very full season. The calendar is bursting with options, but that does not mean you have to do them all or squeeze in “just one more thing” to make it count.

The same reminder from the intro still holds true here: you are allowed to pick what actually fits your family and your energy, and to say no to the rest without guilt. Think of these events as invitations, not obligations, and choose the ones that help you feel connected, present, and a little more like yourself this spring.

If you’d like to help keep this free weekly guide going, you can use the optional Venmo link to chip in toward hosting costs and the behind-the-scenes work it takes to keep everything updated.
