It is hard to believe we are already heading into the last week of February and that we will be stepping into March on Sunday. The daffodils popping up around town make it feel like spring is starting to quietly arrive, and with it comes a fresh wave of family-friendly things to do with kids in Columbia and Spring Hill. This week’s guide includes a mix of story times, playgroups, homeschool programs, fitness meetups, live theater, and big-top fun so you can find activities that fit your family’s schedule and energy level.
I have also started working on a new kid-friendly mural scavenger hunt around town that is designed specifically with families in mind. The plan is to create an online map divided into walkable and drivable sections, plus a small printable for kids, all organized into the most stroller-friendly routes I can put together. If there is enough interest, I may turn the one-page printable into a booklet, so please share any feedback or suggestions once it launches.
If you are keeping an eye on deadlines, here are two important registrations closing this week:
- Teen Cooking Club w/ McKibbon Hollow in Culleoka – The five week program for ages 11 – 16 kicks off March 2nd – Registration closes Wednesday, February 25
- Youth Flag Football League with Phoenix Performance at Zion Christian Academy – The six week league for ages 5 – 14 tentatively starts March 7th with games on Saturday – Registration closes Sunday, March
Some highlights for families looking for things to do with kids this week include:
- Mommy & Me Reformer Class (Monday Morning) – Gentle reformer workout for caregivers with babies from newborn through 9 months, focused on mindful movement, bonding, and postpartum support.
- Chick-fil-A Lunch Play Date w/ The Mom Walk Co (Tuesday Afternoon) – Casual meet-up where kids play while moms connect over lunch at Chick-fil-A in Spring Hill.
- Snow Sister Princess Story Time at Spring Hill Public Library (Wednesday Morning) – Special themed story time with The Snow Sister featuring music, stories, and interactive princess fun.
- Open Gym w/ Discovery Gymnastics (Wednesday & Thursday Mornings) – All-ages open gym with trampolines, beams, bars, and a small obstacle course. I was recently talking with a few moms who hadn’t heard about this one, so it is getting an extra shoutout as a great way to get wiggles out indoors.
- All American Circus (Friday–Sunday Various Times) – Classic indoor big-top circus in Columbia with traditional acts, high-energy performances, and a fun zone with face painting, moon bounces, and treats for kids.
- Daddy Daughter Dance in Mount Pleasant (Saturday Evening) – Annual free dance with music, light refreshments, and optional keepsake photos for dads and daughters.
However you like to plan, whether day by day or the whole week at once, I hope this list gives you a helpful starting point for finding things to do with kids in and around Columbia and Spring Hill.

Planning outings with kids can feel like a lot to juggle, so hopefully having everything in one place makes it a little easier to see what might work for your week. Whether you are trying something new or going back to a favorite spot, I hope you find a couple of things in this guide that your family genuinely enjoys, and as always, it is a good idea to double-check details with the event host before you head out.
If you ever notice something that looks off or hear about an event other local families might love, feel free to reach out so I can keep this as up to date and helpful as possible.
