This week brings a steady lineup of kids activities in Columbia and Spring Hill, with a mix of everyday programs, hands on creative sessions, and festive holiday events. There are options for little ones, older kids, and families looking to keep things simple as we get closer to the holidays, including those celebrating Hanukkah.

There are a few updates to be aware of as you plan your week.

  • Hummingbird Hollow Farm Market is taking a break and hopes to return in February.
  • The Parks and Recreation stroller workout has a new time of 9:30 AM and a new location at the Macedonia Rec Center for the winter months.
  • Spring Hill Library programming is on hold until after the holidays. Note: The Maury County Library continues to offer bi-weekly story times at the Archives Building during renovations.

🎅 SantaLand: Photos with Santa and Santa’s Workshop

Description: Step inside Columbia’s SantaLand and Santa’s Workshop, hosted by The Building Block School for the Arts in the Arts District. Guests can meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, enjoy balloon art, and explore vintage mechanical Christmas display figures collected from around the country. After purchasing a printed photo, guests are welcome to take additional pictures. This long running event brings classic holiday magic to families through detailed decor, interactive displays, and festive activities.

🍪 Mom and Me Cookie Baking Class with Marigold Bread Co.

Location: Private residence (Columbia)
Time: 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM
Cost: $35 for mom and one child; $5 per additional child (Sign up here)
Description: A 1.5 hour class where participants bake and decorate sourdough chocolate chip and sourdough sugar cookies shaped like Christmas themed cookies using dye free frosting and dye free sprinkles. Each family takes home half a dozen cookies. Designed for ages 3 and up.

🚂 Polar Express Pajama Watch Party

Location: Love, Rae Grace Boutique (5075 Main Street, Suite D2, Spring Hill)
Time: 5:00 PM
Cost: $5 per child
Description: Families are invited to watch The Polar Express together during this cozy, indoor movie night. Each child receives a cup of hot chocolate, with additional sweet treats and fun extras available for purchase from other vendors. Parents are welcome to shop while the movie plays. This low-key event is designed to be a relaxed holiday experience, and tickets are limited.
