This Week’s Columbia TN Kids Guide • August 25th – August 31st

The week ahead (August 25th–August 31st) is packed with family-friendly activities, from special one-time events to some of our favorite weekly staples. With the Maury County Fair running all weekend and Labor Day marking the end of summer fun for many pools and splash pads, it’s a great week to get out and enjoy it all.

Here are a few events worth highlighting this week:

  • Pop Up Play Café in Spring Hill (Monday–Friday, multiple time slots)
An indoor play space with bounce houses, soft play, and a coffee bar for parents. On Tuesday, The Mom Walk Co. will host a special session for just $12.
  • Free Music Demo Classes with First Notes Music (Monday morning)
Songs and Snacks classes for ages 0–5, with a babies-only session at 11:45 AM. We’ll be at the 10:30 class if you want to join in.
  • Trail Treasures with Columbia Parks & Rec (Tuesday morning)
A nature walk at Woodland Park where kids can make a bracelet from leaves, petals, and twigs they collect along the trail.
  • Open Gym at Discovery Gymnastics (Wednesday late morning)
An hour of indoor play for kids of all ages. Parents, you’ll need to create an account on their site to register.
  • Paws to Read at Maury County Library (Thursday afternoon)
Kids can sign up to read to a shelter dog in a quiet and supportive setting. Registration required.
  • Bluey Special Events at Villages Clubhouse (Saturday morning and midday)
Two sessions with Bluey-themed fun and kids’ pizzas from Red 7 included in the ticket price. Registration required.
  • Maury County Fair (Thursday–Sunday)
A full lineup of rides, food, shows, and arena events, plus a free Kids Zone with face painting, pony rides, a petting zoo, balloon artist, and inflatables. Full details at maurycountyfair.org.

One last note: most of these activities are not drop-off programs, so a parent or caregiver should plan to stay with their child. But I’d love to know, would you be interested if I started sharing Parents’ Night Out events as they pop up around town? Leave a quick comment to let me know.
